Portland Organizes World’s Largest Tree Hugging
We love Oregon and we love trees. And it sure seems like Oregon loves trees.
On July 20, Portland will attempt to set the Guinness World Record for tree hugging. Organized by Hoyt Arboretum and Treecology, the “hug-in” is an attempt to gather more people than ever to simultaneously hug over 1200 trees. The current world record, if you didn’t know already, is 702, from a hug-in in the UK in 2011.
We think they stand a good chance of pulling it off. If you are heading to Portland this weekend and looking to hug a tree, register here.
